Raphidophora Cryptantha

  • This fun shingling plant is native to Southeast Asia where it will grow along the ground until it finds a tree or surface to climb up. It has beautiful velvety, heart-shaped leaves with silver veining along the vining leaves.
  • Prefers bright, indirect light to partial shade, as it naturally grows underneath the canopy in rainforests.
  • Happiest in a rich, organic but well-draining soil mix. We use a combination of coco coir chips, fir bark, horticultural charcoal, LECA, spongerock, fine coco coir, earthworm castings, and some diatomaceous limestone to bring the pH down.
  • Water when the first couple of inches are dry, but be careful not to let dry out too much, yet not watering when you can still feel moisture in the soil.
  • Keep in temperatures between 60-85°F and it should not be in temperatures below 55°F for very long. Ideal humidity levels are above 60%-80%, these plants do need a little bit higher humidity, but they do great in terrariums and would be a great addition into any terrarium.
