Philodendron Erubescens - Strawberry Shake

  • This truly incredible Philodendron is a naturally-occurring Philodendron Erubescens hybrid and was discovered in the wild in Ecuador in the 90s. Its variegation is a mixture of colors ranging from pink to yellow to green to cream to even a bright orange sometimes. It is an extremely rewarding plant to watch grow.
  • It will thrive in bright, indirect light as its natural environment is climbing trees underneath the shaded canopy in tropical rainforests.
  • Happiest in a rich, organic but well-draining soil mix. We use a combination of coco coir chips, fir bark, horticultural charcoal, LECA, spongerock, fine coco coir, earthworm castings, and some diatomaceous limestone to bring the pH down.
  • Water your strawberry shake when the top couple of inches are dry, be careful never to water when the soil is still moist, but make sure to fully drench the plant and let water filter through when you do water.
  • The best temperatures for this Philodendron are between 60-80°F and with humidity levels around 60%-70% however it can easily acclimate to lower humidity levels.
